Project TRIANGLE STRATEGY, a new tactical RPG from Square Enix, has been announced for release on Nintendo Switch in 2022.
Following Square Enix's recent pattern, a demo was released today on the Nintendo eShop, which will allow players to get a feel for the game as it stands today, and then send feedback to Square Enix. The Square Enix development teams are highly responsive to this feedback, typically altering their games in some fairly dramatic ways in response to player suggestions.
Project TRIANGLE STRATEGY uses a similar visual style to recent releases like Octopath Traveler and the upcoming Bravely Default II, mashing a 16-bit graphical style with modern filters and special effects. The result is stunning, and I can't wait to see how it is implemented in a tactics game.
I have this demo downloading right now, and am super excited to dig into it. Square Enix is responsible for some of the best tactics games in video game history (Final Fantasy Tactics, anyone?), so I have very high hopes for this one. More on Project TRIANGLE STRATEGY as we learn more details.
