When I was in my early twenties, I tried my best to beat two legendary Disney games - Aladdin and Lion King. There are folks that might look at these games and make the same mistake that I did - thinking that they are kid's games, and therefore easy. Longtime gamers know that nothing could be further from the truth. These old-school Disney platformers are tough as nails. Hammer-to-the-face difficult. Like LL Cool J, they are hard as hell. As Joseph says, "Lion King is the Dark Souls of Sega games." I never beat either of them. They broke my soul.
For whatever reason, Games N Moorer decided to take on both of these classic games this week. He fairs pretty well with Aladdin, and gets farther than anyone I've ever seen with The Lion King. How he performs isn't overly important, though. The fun all lies in listening to Joseph talk about his childhood and sing all of the songs. Yes, he knows all of the words.
These games were amazing visual achievements at the time they released. The animation was some of the best in video games, with intricate level design and fantastic detailed characters. But man, the difficulty. "I am so triggered by this," says one viewer. "This game can go to hell," says another. "Toughest game ever published," contributes a third. These games are hard.
