I love the Yakuza games. They are so deliciously bonkers, you can't help but fall in love with them. And with a backlog of Sega arcade classics always thrown in the mix, you can spend hours just bouncing around the city, ignoring the plot and playing arcade games and minigames.
Even though I really enjoy them, I still miss a lot of entries in the franchise. They come too fast and furious for me to keep up with. It seems like every time I turn around, there is some new release, or a remake, or a collection of remakes being released. So it should be no surprise that I missed out on Yakuza's RPG spinoff Judgement when it released on PS4 in 2019.
Good news for folks like me though, as Sega today announced that Judgement is coming to PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S, and Stadia. The new version will include all of Judgement's original DLC, and will clock in at 60 FPS across all new systems.
According to a recent press release, "Judgment is an action thriller that puts players in the shoes of Takayuki Yagami, disgraced attorney turned rugged private detective, as he uncovers the mystery behind a grisly series of murders. Joined by his partner, ex-yazuka Masaharu Kaito, Yagami must claw his way through Kamurocho’s criminal underground to unravel the truth - as painful as it may be." Sounds good to me. Though the new trailer for the new-gen version of Judgement is age-gated, you can check it out on YouTube here.
