Immortals Fenyx Rising not available on the Ubisoft+ Luna beta - am I getting ripped off?

More On: Immortals Fenyx Rising Amazon Luna

UPDATE: Immortals Fenyx Rising showed up on Luna/Ubisoft+ this morning. A day late, but it is there. I will be checking out its performance over the weekend to see how it holds up compared to other Luna titles.

Ya know, I was a bit surprised when I signed up for the Ubisoft+ beta on Amazon Luna, signed in for the first time, and only saw a few games in there. Somewhere in the fine print of the membership agreement, there was probably a warning that the membership was only going to provide a limited number of games, but I missed that, so I was expecting the whole enchilada to be present.

But the first day of the beta did include Assassin's Creed: Valhalla (even though it doesn't run as well on Luna as, say, A Plague's Tale), and I wanted to check that out, so I considered the $14.99 membership to still be a reasonable value. And Watch Dogs: Legion was added a week or so later, so the other big banner game was available to play.

But here we are on launch day for Immortals: Fenyx Rising, and that game is nowhere in sight on Luna. I'm starting to wonder what I'm paying for. Thoughts are rolling around in my head. Thoughts like "Why am I paying $14.99 for a beta?" and "Where is the Stadia compatibility?" and "Maybe Stadia hasn't released Ubisoft+ yet because they noticed that it kinda runs like crap on Luna." Having played other games on Luna, I'm having a hard time believing that Ubi is running their games on the same servers as Amazon. The native Luna games just look so much better in action.

Sure, my Ubi+ membership will allow me to download Immortals to my PC (which is utterly incapable of running it), but the whole point of cloud access is that I don't have to do that anymore. I want to just click on the game and play, fulfilling the promise of cloud gaming. So where they hell is Immortals? One would think that Ubi would make a point of getting the big banner games - which are pretty much the point of an Ubisoft+ membership - up and running day one, beta or not.

I can't help but be disappointed by how the Ubisoft+/Luna combo has been shaking out. $14.99 is a lot to pay each month for a membership of this nature. Perhaps Ubi should consider a reduced rate - or waiving the fee altogether - until they can actually deliver on what they are selling.

I've really been enjoying Luna, but I'm beginning to feel like Ubisoft+ is a ripoff.
