has been fantastic so far. My clan mates and I have been on the grind since launch, getting ready for this particular weekend. On Saturday, the Deep Stone Crypt raid goes live. There are two reasons this is significant. The first is day-one raids are always exciting for spectators watching the World's First race, to see who of the elite will be the first to finish a new raid and win the belt. Those who play a day-one raid without the race part still get a reward, a tasty emblem that we'll be chasing. Beyond (hehe) that, the Deep Stone Crypt has been a notorious name in Destiny lore since the very beginning, since it's the birthplace of the Exos. Beyond Light has been amazing for lore nerds like me. The Destiny community is excited, and so am I. Hopefully we can finish in the first 24 hours, but either way it's going to be a fun weekend.
I've spent the week knocking stuff off of my ridiculous launch list, and now I'm down to this:
Spider-Man Remastered and
Just Dance 2021. Not too shabby!
It turns out that Miles Morales was my gateway into the previous Spider-Man game. I had bounced off of it several times, never getting much further than the first couple of hours. But after playing through the amazing Miles and getting hit by the emotional hammer delivered by that game, I was eager for more Spidey adventures. I've dug right in and soared past my previous ending points. And since I never spent much time with the original, Spidey's new face doesn't bother me a bit.
I'm playing Just Dance 2021 on Stadia, but the game has cross-play across every system, so there are always plenty of people in the World Dance Parties. Though I played last year's edition extensively, this is the first time I've reviewed one of these titles, so I'm paying a little closer attention instead of just flopping around. Great game, and a wonderful way to move around since my area is particularly hard-hit by Covid and I'm supposed to stay in the house all the time.

I'll get VR up and running again this weekend, since I started with a clean slate on my new PC build a couple weeks ago. I'll finally be able to play Half-Life: Alyx now, which is nice since I bought Alyx a few months ago and couldn't actually get the thing to run. Hence the need for the recent upgrade. And I was having new-console envy, let's just be honest. Either way, I already plan on getting stuck for an hour on the porch patio, drawing on the window with those dry erase markers. Stand still, walkers—I can't trace you when you keep crawling all over buildings like that.
Assassin's Creed Valhalla is the first Viking game to come around that's made me forget about Skyrim for at least a little while. I mean, at least since God of War anyway. I mean, since Hellblade: Senua's Sacrifice before that. I mean, since The Banner Saga Trilogy before that. Either way, there's no such thing as a Vikings saturation point for me. Keep it coming. I've gone into Valhalla knowing it'd be a game that I would be dipping into for the next year or so. At least until Eitr comes up with a launch date and lets me become the Hyper Light Viking I'm destined to be.

This weekend I've got a few things I need to catch up on. First up, I'm going to go back into
The Outer Worlds. That's a game I really need to make some headway into. It was so exciting to see it when it first showed and now I think it's time I do a deep dive and move towards finishing it.
I was going to jump into Baldur's Gate 3 but it's still in early access and I think it would confuse me too much to have two intense RPGs in my rotation. So I'm going for some mindless fun in DOOM Eternal. Some fast-paced quick-shooting action will be a nice complement to a deep RPG for this weekend.
