Ubisoft and Amazon today launched the UbiSoft+ beta in Amazon Luna. As one of the few people with Luna access, I immediately signed up and took a look at what the offerings. While the overall UbiSoft+ library is very impressive, the number of titles included in the Luna beta is just a small percentage of the overall library. Frankly, I have no idea how to play the other titles offered in UbiSoft+. I'm going to have to either wait until they add more titles to Luna, or try to figure it out. The brief video below details what is in the UbiSoft+ library vs. what you can actually play in Luna:
Nonetheless, I was excited to check out Assassin's Creed Valhalla. I went ahead and jumped in, recording the first 45 minutes of gameplay. Overall, the performance was...okay. Cut scenes are pretty rough, skipping frames of animation and feeling a bit jerk-y. But when I finally got control of my character and was able to actively engage, things cleaned up quite a bit.
It is best to remember that this is day one of the beta, and I chose to jump into a brand new game - so some of the choppy performance may just be the game needing to be patched, as opposed to actual Luna performance problems.
Here's 45 or so minutes of Assassin's Creed Valhalla gameplay on Amazon Luna:
I will jump into a few other games over the next couple of days and post videos of their performance, and I'll be checking back on Valhalla regularly. Keep an eye on Gaming Nexus for more details.
