It’s evident that the COVID-19 pandemic has had a profound impact on game development. Major titles have seen delays left and right. Ubisoft’s Far Cry 6 and Rainbow Six Quarantine are just the latest major games to suffer delays due to the pandemic.
In their latest earnings report, Ubisoft revealed that in order “to leverage their full potential in the context of production challenges caused by COVID-19,” Far Cry 6 and Rainbow Six Quarantine will now release somewhere between April 2021 and the end of March 2022. Far Cry 6 was originally slated to release on February 18, 2021 whilst Rainbow Six Quarantine had a vague 2020 release date.
