Somehow, Outriders seems to be flying under the radar. I'm not sure how or why, but the buzz on this amazing-looking game seems to nearly non-existent. That's not for lack of trying, though. The developers at People Can Fly (BULLETSTORM, Gears of War: Judgement) and the publishers at Square-Enix seem to be making all the right moves with this game. Everything that fans currently ask for in a game is being delivered.
Not only will Outriders feature free upgrades from current to next-gen consoles, but the game will also offer full cross-play between PS4, PS5, Xbox One, Xbox Series X|S, PC, and Stadia. Cross-play with all of the consoles is great, but for Stadia, its a real game-changer. Finding people to play with on that platform can be a struggle, so even cross-play with PC is very welcome. Cross-play with consoles is almost unheard of.
In addition to the above announcements, the team behind Outriders also shared that the game will be releasing on February 2, 2021. So, not quite a console release title, but Outrider ought to arrive right about the time that most gamers are wrapping up their holiday titles and are looking for something new.
