I really enjoy teardown videos showing the innards of a piece of hardware. It's interesting to see what goes into making a machine tick and the thoughts behind the engineering of a product.
Sony is going into full teardown mode with their PlayStation 5 doing a deep dive by taking one apart. Definitely don't try this with your machine. This is for informational purposes only.
You can check out the AMD Zen 2 CPU and RDNA2 GPU that powers the graphics for the console. Speaking of RDNA2 GPU, there's going to be an AMD event on October 28th to talk about the exact GPU architecture for PC owners and detail cards based off of RDNA2 coming to consumers.
The expandable PCI-E Gen4 M.2 slot looks pretty easily accessible so you can pop in your own expandable storage into the system.
WiFi 6 and Bluetooth 5.1 are the radios in the PlayStation 5 ensuring you'll get future proof, fast communication with your wireless devices.
To cool the PS5, there's one 120mm intake fan that can draw air from both sides of the system and a pretty solid looking heatpipe/heatsink combo on the system. All the hot air exhausts through the rear ports of the system.
When it's all taken apart, it doesn't look that complicated. I'm impressed by the simplistic nature of the build and how it all comes together.
We have about a month left before the PlayStation 5 is in the public's hands. So far, everything I've seen of it looks like a solid device hardware wise. Now, we just wait on the games.
