Halo Infinite was suppose to be one of the titles that starts the Xbox Series X generation, but now it will come out next year. 343 Industries has decided to move the release date to sometime in 2021.
Many factors resulted in this decision such as the current pandemic. The reaction to the gameplay a few weeks ago was met with some criticism on how the game looked as people were expecting more for a next generation title, and especially a flagship title.
This will give more time for the team to really polish the next Halo game. It's really hard for the folks at the company to delay a title such as Halo Infinite, but I think it's a good decision if they feel like they need to time to deliver a quality title. And you know a lot of people have very high hopes for Halo Infinite and it would be a great disservice to not give the fans the best Halo game they can make.
2020 hasn't had much good news and while this is surely another one in that bucket, let's hope this will lead to a great Halo game in 2021.
