Okay, not my most creative Nintendo Download headline but I couldn't think of anything witty. Anyway this week saw the launch of Jump Rope Challenge on the Nintendo Switch. Jump Rope Challenge was a surprise free-to-play drop on the eShop. The game is simply a jump rope simulator where you move the two Joy-Cons around like you're jumping rope. You can set a daily goal and pretty much go as long as you wish. Naturally since it's based on Joy-Con movement you don't have to actually jump, but as a free fitness game I can't complain. However, since it does require holding the Joy-Cons in your hands, this game is NOT useable with the Switch Lite.
Next up is Burnout Paradise Remastered which launched on the Switch on June 19th. This is the first Burnout game on a Nintendo system in nearly 15 years and...well, it's Burnout. I've enjoyed playing Burnout now and then with my friends and I'm glad to see it come to the Nintendo Switch. Optimized for the Switch in 60 FPS, Burnout Paradise Remastered features more than 130 vehicles, new areas to explore, and plenty of crashing and everything that goes with it. Plus it's nice to have another Burnout game that you can take on the go.
Finally is Ninjala which launches on June 24th. Ninjala lets you fight in battle royale-style matches with up to eight players in a game that looks like what would happen if the cast of Splatoon were more ninjas and less squid-like. You can blow bubbles with Ninja Gum to throw at your opponents, craft weapons, and use finishing techniques known as IPPON in competitive play or by teaming up with friends for co-op play in four-on-four team battles. Plus the beginning of the launch trailer reminds me of West Side Story and that's a plus.
