When I heard that the Elder Scrolls Online was releasing as part of the Free with Pro program on Stadia, I knew that I would want to finally engage with this extremely popular game. I did a quick scan of my Steam library, and as I suspected, I had a copy of ESO lurking in there.
I downloaded the game and jumped in. Since the Stadia version of ESO has cross-play and cross-progress, I figured I would get a character through tutorial island, and up to level 10 so I could have a mount ready to go when I started on Stadia. Beat the rush, if you know what I'm saying.
So yesterday when the game released on Stadia, I claimed the title and tried to jump in, but the method for connecting the accounts was a little obtuse. Stadia tells you to start the game and connect there, but there is no way to do so.
A bit of poking around, and I figured it out. The real method for linking your PC and Stadia ESO accounts is found on the ESO website here.
Click "Account" in the upper left-hand corner. Log in using your ESO creds.
On the left, you will see a box titled "Account Summary". The fifth option will be "Linked Accounts". Click it.
Here you will see a variety of account types, including Stadia. Click "Link Stadia Account". This will take you out to a place to enter your Stadia creds. Once you have done that, confirm, and your accounts will be linked.
From there, I jumped into the Stadia version of ESO, and found my PC character there waiting for me. It's not terribly complicated, you just have to know where to look.
