After its premiere announcement at The Game Awards 2019, Fast & Furious Crossroads revealed a first look at actual gameplay today with a new trailer. The trailer follows a series of different missions in the game, each one looking progressively more and more like an actual scene from a Fast & Furious movie. The environments are chock full of everything you'd expect, from freely swinging wrecking balls to those gigantic mechanical diggers that show up an absurd amount of video games.
Alongside the gameplay, the trailer also focuses some time on character dialogue, revealing some of the voice cast that will be joining Toretto's crew. Vin Diesel continues to provide the voice for Dom Toretto, with Michelle Rodriguez and Tyrese Gibson returning as Letty Ortiz and Roman Pearce. Although their in-game characters aren't known, Asia Kate Dillon and Sonequa Martin-Green will also be joining the cast.
Honestly, the gameplay trailer looks like the Fast & Furious game I was hoping for. It doesn't seem like the game is targeted toward racing purists, more so those who crave the sometimes ludicrous cinematic experience that is a Fast & Furious movie.
Fast & Furious Crossroads is scheduled to release August 7, 2020 on Xbox One, PlayStation 4, and PC.
