Ebb Software have announced that their long-gestating first-person horror title Scorn will be console exclusive on Xbox Series X. Ebb promises that the game will run at 4k 60fps, and they chose Series X specifically because its hardware could sustain that performance and maintain their artistic vision.
Scorn has been in development at least since its announcement in 2014, but it went quiet periodically and fans were concerned that it had been cancelled. Apparently Ebb has struggled with funding for a while now, but recently they've gotten the stability they need and have been able to focus a lot more on development. I've kept a close eye on Scorn from time to time, particularly because I'm a fan of H.R. Giger and even though I love me some Alien, it was nice to see a studio do something with his art that wasn't related to the Alien franchise.
I'm happy that Scorn has resurfaced, but I'm especially pleased that, at least according to Ebb's Kickstarter FAQ, it's still coming to PC via Steam, GOG, and of course the Windows Store. There's still no release date, but you can watch the latest trailer below.

Ease of development and raw processing power are the primary reasons we chose to go exclusively with Xbox Series X. Players on Series X will experience an uncompromising version of Scorn.”
Scorn lures players into a claustrophobic underworld populated with mis-shapen organic forms dripping with unnamed fluids. You will find yourself entirely alone, with only your senses and instincts to guide you through the non-linear nightmare of interconnected spaces. In Scorn, the environment is itself a character, and will do its best to unsettle and unbalance you. Each location has its own puzzles, characters and story to tell, all of which combine to create a cohesive world. On your journey through the game, new areas, skills, weapons and items will be unveiled as you attempt to comprehend the unfolding reality of Scorn.
