Almost lost in the firehose blast of announcements that was today's Stadia Connect, the inclusion of Zombie Army 4: Dead War as a Free with Pro game in May is news worth noting.
Free with Pro games have typically been either big-budget (but older) games that launched with Stadia, or newer indies (Stacks on Stacks, Spitlings, etc). But Zombie Army 4: Dead War released on February 2, 2020, to good reviews. This is a pretty new game to be dropping into a "free" program of this nature.
The game holds a very respectable 72 on Metacritic. Here at Gaming Nexus, we gave Zombie Army 4 an 8.5, with reviewer Zachary Atwood saying "Zombie Army 4 feels like an old friend you're reconnecting with after a few years. Even though it's similar to its predecessors, the game has been refined into something that holds greater mass appeal. Weapon upgrading, fresh enemy design, and a packed progression system give players a reason to keep coming back. The core gameplay loop is even better more when tackled in co-op, yielding some hilarious and action-packed adventures."
This is a pretty significant add to the Free with Pro program, coming on top of the free PUBG announcement today. The other two games announced, Turing Test and Steamworld: Heist are nothing to sneeze at either -both highly respected genre indie games.
At it's current price of "free", Stadia Pro is one of the best values in gaming. The addition of these titles will only make that value proposition stronger.
