Destiny 2's newest content release, Season of the Worthy, launched today with a slew of new content. The most notable release of this coming season is the return of the fan-favorite pinnacle PvP activity, Trials of Osiris. Long time fans of the series will undoubtedly have many fond (or frustrating) memories of trying to score a flawless Trials card to take a trip to the much-coveted Lighthouse on Mercury.
Season of the Worthy is out today, with plenty of new weapons, armor, and quests to partake in. However, for those who are ready to dive into Trials, you'll have to wait a bit. Like it's previous iterations, Trials will only be available on the weekends, with the first weekend of play starting on Friday, March 13th. In the meantime, players can focus on knocking out some quests and bounties to start to push their power level up. Trials has power advantage enabled, so players can use this time to give themselves a little advantage for the upcoming weekend of PvP.
For those that aren't as interested in PvP activities, there's plenty going on in the season that should draw PvE focused players into the fray. A new story arc in the ever-evolving Destiny universe pits your undying guardian against a new challenge they haven't fought yet: a giant disabled spaceship hurtling towards Earth. In order to stop it, you'll have to work to restore an ancient Warmind, Rasputin. Of course, restoring the Warmind will be accompanied by a plethora of loot, including armor and weapons and new exotics. Additionally, the hardest of hardcore players will get access to the Grandmaster Nightfall difficulty in April, which is shaping up to be one of the hardest activities we've seen in Destiny 2 so far.
The wait for Guardians is over – Bungie announces that beloved, pinnacle PVP mode, Trials of Osiris returns on March 13th as part of the upcoming Destiny 2 season, Season of the Worthy. The player-favorite 3v3 pinnacle PvP is back with some of the favorite armors, weapons and maps from Destiny 1, such as Cauldron, Exodus Blue and Anomaly.
“We kept hearing the players talking about it, we were also feeling it amongst ourselves, I can’t wait to bring back a version of the Trials that I actually remembered from Destiny 1” has explained Justin Truman, Production director at Bungie.
