Stadia took to Twitter today to reveal the release date for the recently announced Serious Sam Collection. In a post this afternoon, Stadia announced that the Serious Sam Collection will release on March 3rd, far sooner than most players expected.
The collection, which includes three Serious Sam titles remastered in high definition, doesn't have a price point yet, but it is fair to say that Stadia has been bringing price points down so they fall more in line with the rest of the industry.
In an interview on the Stadia Community Blog, Croteam Chief Creative Officer Davor Hunski described the collection like this: "The Serious Sam series is unique in terms of its focus on huge arenas filled with dozens upon dozens of nasty beasts coming at you at the same time! The core gameplay is based on finding the right balance between smart movement, weapon switching and recognizing enemy behavior patterns. The game will keep you on the edge of your seat from the moment the fight music starts until there’s no one left but you on the battlefield."
Stadia is definitely playing the long game here, and their community is responding well to the increased number of announcements in the past couple of weeks. This is a hungry crowd, and they are excited to finally be getting fed.
