Modus Games ain’t afraid of no coronavirus. Today at PAX, Modus announced the upcoming release of Cris Tales, a new RPG, for Stadia later this year. Additionally, the company revealed a release date for the previously announced Lost Word, along with delivering a six minute gameplay reel.
Cris Tales, which does not have a date yet, is described as a love letter to classic JRPGs. From the Modus Games website:
“Cris Tales is a gorgeous, indie love letter to classic JRPGs with a new perspective. Peer into the past, act in the present, and watch as your choices dynamically change the future — all on one screen as you play! Beautifully hand-drawn 2D animations bring to life a world where your choices will change both the present and the future across more than 20 hours of gameplay.”
In addition to the Cris Tales news, Modus announced that the highly anticipated Lost Words: Beyond the Page will be releasing on Stadia on March 27, 2020. Lost Words will be Stadia exclusive for a period of one year. After that, it will launch on PlayStation 4, Nintendo Switch, Xbox One, and PC.

It is delightful to see more companies going big on Stadia. As time goes by, the “flash in the pan” argument is getting harder and harder to make.
