This is pretty cute. To announce the soundtrack to Oxygen Not Included now being available for purchase on Steam, developer Klei Entertainment set up a streaming YouTube channel called "lofi dupe hop radio - beats to survive/mine to." It's an obvious play on the popular "lofi hip hop radio - beats to relax/study to" and/or Chillhop Music music streaming channel, except Klei's consists of music from their game Oxygen Not Included. They even came up with a super cute looping gif of what I'm sure are plenty of Klei send-ups, not to mention a desktop computer running the ol' 3D pipes screensaver, as characters from Klei's past games sail past the window, either attached to asteroids (I think?) or coasting by on jet packs.
It's the official way to unwind as your space colony teeters on the brink of disaster. Featuring the original atmospheric music composed and arranged by Vince de Vera, this OST contains all of the game music, and a couple of extras, in both FLAC and MP3 formats.
Purchasing the soundtrack on Steam entitles you to any additional tracks Klei may add to the game, or in their animated shorts in the future.
I've never gotten my hands on Oxygen Not Included, but this original soundtrack is exactly the kind of stuff I play at work to while away the afternoon slump when only a cold brew coffee will keep a post-lunchtime nappy from kicking in.
Pretty adorable though, Klei, even though I'm not musically inclined enough to know what "dupe hop" means. It's been streaming for six hours at the time of this writing. No telling how long they'll keep it going.
