2020 might end up being the year of the subscription services. Google Stadia will be coming into its own, Microsoft continues to press Game Pass, and not to be left out Sony is stepping it up with Playstation Now. And stepping it up it is, with one of the best games in the catalogue coming to the service, Horizon Zero Dawn. This is significant not only because it's a great game, but it actually means this is the very first time PC players can experience it, as PS Now is not tethered to the console, but can play on PC through the app.
In addition to HZD, January also brings Uncharted: Lost Legacy which should need no introduction as an Uncharted game, and Overcooked 2, which many might sleep on but would do so at their detriment. Overcooked is a great little series and fantastic fun single or multiplayer. If you have a chance, give it a try. It's madcap and intense and a very good time.
The catch with these high profile PS Now games is that they are only available for a limited time. So these January releases will only be in the rotation until April 7th, 2020. So strike while the iron is hot, and if you're one of those PC players desperate to finally try HZD, then know a 3 month subscription will cover the life of the game on the platform. But of course the longer you subscribe, the better the deal, with the 12 month costing $60 compared to $25 for just 3 months. More info about the January releases can be found on the Playstation blog.
