Can you believe Need for Speed Heat is actually the 24th Need for Speed game? While having a hard time wrapping my head around that number, if Wikipedia says it, it must be true. Heat releases early next month, but the launch trailer is here today, and the opportunity to start customizing your ride has been in place for a some time already. Over 2 million customized cars have already been created for the yet unreleased game through the NFS Heat Studio on mobile. EA's latest press release details not only the volume of customized rides but that each player is spending about 24 minutes per car to finish their creations, noting at both the engagement the app is producing as well as the breadth of options available to capture people's attention for so long. The launch trailer below also include 5 of those player-designs embedded in the video.
Need for Speed Heat takes place on the streets of Palm City, an open world where sanctioned daytime events to earn "Bank" funnel into underground races to ear "Rep" when the sun goes down. The game releases November 8th for PS4, Xbox One, and PC and features over 120 cars. The NFS Studio app is available now from the Apple App Store or Google Play Store.
