Star Wars Jedi: Fallen Order has the high task of being the first major, single-player Star Wars game since 2005's Republic Commando. Of course, it's one thing to compare the game to its predecessors before it even comes out, and another to just let it stand on its own. I want to let it breathe, but it's really hard to when I'm practically hyperventilating in anticipation.
Lucky for me, there was a release of a trailer over the weekend that shed some light on the game. Handily titled "Cal's Mission" the trailer gives spotty reference to what players will be getting into.
Throughout, we see Cal traveling with a small crew (a captain and her pilot) while escaping those pesky Sith Inquisitors. He explores locales made of forest, stone, and industrial brutalist garb. There is at least one boss fight against what looks like a giant bat, and also a star map where players might be able to choose what planet to travel to. There is an ominous narration by the big bad, who is one of the Inquisitors that we see oncreen, that waxes philosophical about how there is no escape from the Empire or the Dark Side. C'est la vie.
Star Wars Jedi: Fallen Order releases November 15th, 2019.
