Anno 1800 is playable for free until August 26th

Ubisoft has recently announced that in honor of Gamescom 2019, Anno 1800 will be free to play on Windows PC until August 26th. For the next week players will get to check out the award-winning city-building strategy game and get a first glimpse at the upcoming day and night cycle that will arrive in a free update on September 10th. In addition to that announcement, Ubisoft has also announced that the game's second DLC, called Botanica, will also launch on September 10th. The DLC will allow players to improve their city's attractiveness with a modular Botanical Garden that will allow them to earn new items and rewards as they attract more tourists to their city. They can also construct a new Musical Pavilion and enjoy music from the previous Anno games inside their city.

COLOGNE— August, 19 — Today, Ubisoft announced that Anno 1800™, the latest installment from the successful city-building and strategic franchise, will be free to play in honor of Gamescom 2019 on Windows PC. Until August 26*, players will be able to discover the award-winning game and get a first glimpse at the upcoming day & night cycle free update, releasing on September 10 for all players. In addition, Ubisoft announced that the second DLC of the game, Botanica, will also release on September 10.

Starting today until August 26 players can play Anno 1800 for free on Uplay. The free trial includes the first three tiers of the sandbox mode along with the multiplayer mode. In addition, players will be able to try out for the first time the upcoming day & night cycle and enjoy the beauty of their city by night, to be released as a free update for every Anno 1800 player on September 10.

On September 10, players will discover Botanica, the second DLC of Anno 1800. Players will be able to grow their city’s attractiveness to new heights with a modular Botanical Garden, allowing them to earn new items and rewards as they draw the tourist masses to their floral masterpiece. Alternatively, they will be able to construct the new Musical Pavilion and enjoy beloved tracks from previous Anno games inside their city.  

Developed by Ubisoft Mainz, Anno 1800 provides players with countless opportunities to prove their skills as a ruler. Players can create huge metropolises, plan efficient logistics networks, settle an exotic new continent, send out global expeditions, and dominate their opponents by diplomacy, trade or warfare. The Anno 1800 post-launch plan offers new adventures, challenges and tools to the players. The Season Pass includes three DLCs to be released throughout the year including Sunken Treasures, Botanica and The Passage. In addition, regular updates will bring new free content available for all players.

For more than two years, Anno 1800 has invited players to take part in the creation and the development of the game by giving feedback through the Anno Union. So far, more than 180 blogs have been published, 17,000 comments posted and 5 community contests organized. This collaboration between players and the studio enables the development team to shape the game and add requested community features.


Anno 1800 is available digitally on the Ubisoft Store and the Epic Games store for Windows PC and will release on Uplay+, Ubisoft’s subscription service. Details on Uplay+ are available at uplayplus.com . Sunken Treasures is already available and can be purchased as part of the Anno 1800 Season Pass for $24.99 or individually for $11.99. In addition, players can now purchase the Gold Edition of Anno 1800, including the Digital Deluxe Edition** of the game and the Season Pass.
