The Hero of Dragon Quest draws near in today's impromptu Super Smash Bros. Ultimate Nintendo Direct. In this brief video, Smash director Masahiro Sakurai reveals that The Hero is available today, both as an individual purchase or as part of the Fighter's Pass DLC bundle. Sakurai-san details a lot of the care and attention that went into getting each iteration and costume variation of The Hero just right. After all, Dragon Quest is kind of a big deal in Japan.
As an ugly American who never got into the Dragon Quest series this doesn't mean a whole lot to me, but I can appreciate the impact it has for the vast number of loyal fans out there. This video also reveals some new updates for Smash Ultimate V4.0, including numerous balances, a "very easy" difficulty for story mode, and a new online tournament that lets you jump into a huge roster.
