This War of Mine, the difficult game that strives to capture what it is to live in an actual warzone, has been out for close to five years. But that hasn't stopped its developers over at 11 bit Studios from putting out new DLC for it.
In the latest DLC, part of the overarching "Stories" expansion, is described by lead artist Tomasz Kisilewicz as focusing on non-linear gameplay as well as the theme of "choices that lead to multiple endings that were necessary to cover the question of what has the bigger value: things made by men that outlast life or the life itself. When you think about it, humans stand against the destructive power of war not only to save themselves but also to save what entire generations create."
The trailer, which you can watch below is eery and stark, pitting an overall darkness of a war-torn city against burning buildings.
The DLC releases August 6th.
