It's been a long time teasing, but Square Enix finally unveiled Marvel's Avengers last night at their E3 press conference. The game starts out with the Avengers celebrating in San Francisco, but things go terribly wrong. Like End Game, there's a time jump after the events that happen and well, who knows where it goes from here.
You'll get to play, initially, as Captain America, Iron Man, Thor, Hulk, or Black Widow (Again, Hawkeye gets the shaft.), although the trailer makes it seem like Captain America didn't make it past the catastrophic event on the helicarrier. (We know he'll survive somehow.)
Up to four players can play cooperatively and Square's going to pump out content free constantly to the game. Later on in the press conference, they showed Hank Pym shoot a shrinking gun at a robot spider so other Avengers will show up during the course of the game.
It's unfortunate they couldn't get the movie actor's likeness. The voice cast is impressive though with the likes of Nolan North and Troy Baker taking on Tony Stark and Bruce Banner respectively. Still, you'll easily recognize the characters and you'll experience all the powers that these characters have.
May 15, 2020 is when the game will be out and it's targeting the PlayStation 4, Xbox One, Stadia, and PC.
