If you have been playing Sea of Thieves, then today is a day that you have been excited about for awhile now. Today is the day that the Anniversary Update drops, which brings in a plethora of new game features and functionality. rare has taken the servers offline, and they are expected to be down until ~11:00 am EST today for those in the U.S.
Once they come back online, the additions should continue to make this game grow and keep its replay ability at a high level.
[UPDATE: DAN] Per the Sea of Thieves official twitter, the maintenance window is running long and is now anticipated to be done at 1:00 pm EST. The release notes have also been published.
