Rumors circulated a week or so ago that Halo: The Master Chief Collection would be making its way to the PC. Well, today the official word came down along with a new addition.
Yes indeed, Halo is coming back to the PC and it'll be on both Steam and the Windows Store, the former being somewhat of a surprise to me. But, a good decision by Microsoft.
Along for the ride will be Halo: Reach. Now not all titles will be available at once on the PC as they will release them in pieces. In fact, Reach will be the first to come out on PC and then the collection will be released in chronological order. Halo and Halo 2 did come out on PC a long time ago, but I'm sure they're using the time to add new enhancements and compatibility for today's PCs.
The PC versions will support PC-centric featurs such as a FOV slider, mouse and keyboard controls along with controller support, and adjustable frame rates so those with powerful PCs can run these games at high FPS. This should be great news for PC gamers as long as 343 does it well.
So, there you have it. Halo is making its way back to the PC and it's going to be available at a store that most people prefer. What's not to love about that?
