Avalanche Studios has announced the release date for their alternate history robot-killing co-op shooter, Generation Zero. The game launches on March 26th, and will have both a standard and collector's edition. The game portrays an alternate 1980s Sweden, where cybernetic monsters are hunting humanity to the brink of extinction. The inspiration from Swedish artist Simon Stålenhag is obvious, and while I still want some developer to make an open world game with Stålenhag's express involvement, it's clear that Avalanche Studios have great respect for his work.
The game's collector's edition will retail for $79.99 and include a steelbook game case, cloth map of the game world, a Generation Zero t-shirt, and a stylized, traditional Swedish dala horse statue. Our own Randy Kalista is pretty excited for the game so I'm sure he already has the collector's edition pre-ordered, which you can do here. If you're more inclined to get the standard edition, it will run you $39.99 on Xbox One and PS4, and $34.99 on PC.
