Capcom USA's Twitter just dropped some welcome Halloween-season news: Resident Evil, Resident Evil 0 and Resident Evil 4 are all coming to Nintendo Switch next year. Details are thin for now, but I wouldn't be surprised if we're getting ports of the HD remasters from a few years back.
All I can say is it's about time. I honestly don't care much for RE1 or RE0--the tank controls and awkward 90s gameplay just never grabbed me--but RE4 is one of my favorite horror games of all time. The Wii version had perfect aiming controls and I can't play it any other way; it's a shame the 480p graphics are so smeary.
The reason I'm so excited for RE4 on Switch is the possibility to get those motion aiming controls back, but in 1080p. When I reviewed Resident Evil Revelations 1 and 2 on Switch, I really liked the Joy-Con aiming they included but I was baffled why Capcom didn't port RE4 to Switch first. Hopefully Capcom goes the full 9 yards with their RE4 Switch port and give us the definitive edition I've been wanting for years.
