Two of the biggest brands in car related games and toys are teaming up to make...a physical game. The folks at Hot Wheels are partnering with Rocket League to create the Hot Wheels Rocket League RC Rivals set. Unlike the games that Rocket League is famous for on your screen, this one will mimic the virtual world, but with your own Radio Controlled arena you can set up on your bedroom floor.
Starting November 1st, you can purchase the RC Rivals set for $179.99 at select retailers in North America and use RC cars to emulate a favorite video game. Included in the set are two RC cars (that you control with your iOS or Android Bluetooth device), ball, charge base, arena walls/mat and two goals. A bonus is included for your video game version if you own it, as all purchasers will receive a special in-game code that unlocks exclusive online game content including a Hot Wheels Goal Explosion, Hot Wheels RC Rivals Topper and two RC Rivals Decals for Octane and Dominus (the RC cars in the box.)
This seems targeted for the games younger fans out there (Age 8+), but I can see the appeal for those of all ages that have kids or siblings that might want to branch out a bit. Not sure if this will be a hot seller with the hefty price tag, but if you are thinking of getting it for Christmas, and it starts popping up on must-have lists, grab it before it is too late.
