Dante is back in the latest trailer for Devil May Cry 5, debuting at this year's Tokyo Game Show. Showing off a ton of gameplay in its three minutes, while expounding little in the way of story, the game takes place in a city infested with demons, and it's your job to take them down, with style. Playing as Dante and Nero (from the previous entry in the series), the gameplay looks dark, fast, and violent.
Joined by a supporting cast of series mainstays Trish and Lady, accompanying the player are new characters Nicoletta Goldstein and V. Nicoletta, the lady with the garishly southern accent, drives the van with the neon signage on it, and also develops the player's tech (more on that in a second). V, seen late in the trailer, is Dante's client, a very edgy-looking guy who uses a cane and reads from a biblical-looking text with his first initial labeled in large print on the front.
Some new tools in Dante's and Nero's respective arsenals include a motorcycle that splits in two to use as giant power saws for the former, and a robotic arm that blasts projectiles for the latter.
Oh, and Dante can transform into a giant demon-looking thing with glowing eyes. That's pretty cool.
As for that part about the tech, the game's deluxe edition includes a MegaMan-style arm for Nero. This game looks to be a great combination of gorgeous, gore, and wack.
Devil May Cry 5 jumps, hacks, and slashes its way onto Xbox One, PS4, PS4 Pro, and PC on March 8th, 2019.
