In addition to the release of the latest MAJOR SPOILER LADEN trailer (posted
at this link, but seriously the trailer is basically one long, action packed cut scene of Cayde's last stand),
Bungie took over the Blizzard stage at Gamescom today to talk about the
Destiny 2 Forsaken major expansion and announce that the new game mode, Gambit, will be free to play for all players on September 1st. 24 hours of Gambit for one day only to get a taste of what's on the other side of Destiny 2, year 2.
The free trial will run from 10am PST (1pm EST) Sept 1st until the same time on the 2nd. Gambit mashes PvE with PvP as two teams take on Destiny's AI foes, banking motes until they get a chance to invade the other side's arena and wreck havoc and disrupt the efforts of their human counterparts. This goes until one team is able to successfully topple a big boss and snatch the win. The mode can be entered with a fireteam or will support solo players in matchmaking. So even if your clan isn't fully available on the 1st there is no reason not to jump in for a few rounds solo.
Destiny 2's Forsaken expansion releases September 4th for PS4, Xbox One, and PC.
