A few years ago I took a look at a game called Echos of Eridu, a game that took a lot of inspiration from the Mega Man X series. At the time it was still in the Alpha stage, but has since been completed seeing a full release on August 16th last year on Steam (the name was changed to 20XX at some point). If you're a console gamer though, it's now your turn to jump in on the action as 20XX is now available for the Xbox One, PlayStation 4, and Nintendo Switch. There's no telling how long it'll be before we see a Mega Man X9, if ever, but this should be a great way to pass that time.
