No one will argue that the Xbox One lacks quality games. With high profile titles like Crackdown 3 delayed and others (Dragonscale) are cancelled the Xbox One is lacking in quality exclusive games. To address this Microsoft has launched a new studio called "The Initiative" in Santa Monica to build new games.
In addition to the new studio, Microsoft has purchased Compulsion Games, Playground Games, Undead Labs, and Ninja Theory to craft new games for the system. This is huge news as this gives Microsoft a pipeline of quality developers who will be churning out quality content for the system.
The downside is that outside of Compulson's We Happy Few, we won't see the fruits of these purchases until next year or so. Still it's exciting to see Microsoft put all of that capital to work.
