When Mega Man 11 hits the PS4, Xbox One, PC, and Nintendo Switch on October 2nd, Mega Man will be bringing more than just the ability to take on the powers of the robot masters. Dr. Wily has decided to invest in an ambitious idea from his time at Robot University where he studied alongside Dr. Light, but Dr. Light also recalls the idea and decides to upgrade Mega Man with this powerful prototype called the Double Gear system. This will add a unique twist to the game and will offer options to enhance Mega Man's speed and power on the fly.
The gears include the Speed Gear which allows you to slow down the flow of time, the Power Gear to charge the Mega Buster to a new level and makes weapon-based abilities even more robust, and the Double Gear which gives Mega Man a hidden ability to activate both gears simultaneously when at critical health to unleash maximum power and allows for deft maneuvers in the direst of situations. You know, the Power Gear and Double Gear abilities sound kind of familiar, like they'll be used in another robot built by Dr. Light that'll be activated in about one hundred years...
Capcam has released a new trailer for the game that not only shows off the new Double Gear system, but also gives a formal introduction to two of the game's new robot masters: Block Man and Fuse Man.
