I think it is probably pretty obvious by now that I really dig Dauntless. Between my many news posts, my in-depth preview article and the dozens of hours I have spent in-game, I feel like I am personally invested in Dauntless and spreading the word about the hours of fun that await players.
Dauntless enters open beta today. This means that the 1,000,000+ players that have registered to play Dauntless will now have access to the game, with hopefully many more joining them soon after. Grouping for hunts ought to be pretty easy with that many players banging around Ramsgate.
“Open Beta is an exciting next step for us, but it is just the beginning for what we have planned for Dauntless,” said Jesse Houston, CEO and co-founder of Phoenix Labs. “For the past four years we’ve been dedicated to creating the next, great online game for players to share together, and Open Beta is the next huge step in fulfilling our promise. We will be continually adding content and updates to Dauntless and incorporating feedback from our passionate community. We are committed to providing more and more reasons for players to come back to Dauntless for years to come.”
Many features have been added to the game over the past months in anticipation of open beta, including a new Evergame experience that offers a ton of challenges and activities to players that have completed the main campaign. If you have any interest in checking out the monster hunting genre, this is a great place to start. Dauntless is designed to be easy for new players to pick up and play, and is also conducive to shorter gaming sessions. You can easily bounce in, compete a hunt, and bounce back out in under 20 minutes.
New players can sign up to participate in the open beta here.
