I think that by now it is becoming a little obvious that I am excited about The Alliance Alive. While I will not be reviewing the game for Gaming Nexus (I believe that Matt will have that pleasure), nothing is stopping me from banging the drum to draw attention to what looks to be are really cool old-school JRPG throwback.
On that note, there are a couple of interesting pieces of media for fans to take a look at today. The first, the above unboxing video, speaks for itself. It is gloriously clunky and weird, and watching it gives me a great deal of affection for the team at Atlus USA for being willing to go out on a limb and just be strange (mostly because it looks like something I might do).
The second bit of internet goodness is this interactive look at the artbook that will be included with the deluxe edition of the game. It should be mentioned that the launch edition comes with this art book, a 20-track CD soundtrack, and a “Robbins” keychain (Robbins the little penguin guy). The launch edition retails for $39.99, so you get all this bonus stuff basically for free. This means that you can pre-order this package for $31.99 from Amazon if you are a Prime member.
I don’t mean to beat a dead horse with this game. I’m just a huge JRPG fan, who often wonders why “they don’t make them like they used to”. This game looks like it just might answer that question.
The Alliance Alive launches March 27th, 2018 on 3DS.
