Blizzard usually likes to take a bit of time to dangle teasers over our heads before releasing a hero for Overwatch, so it came as a bit of a surprise when we only had a few days to speculate before they announced Brigitte Lindholm as the game's next hero. (Granted, a lot of people figured it out right away, but that's neither here nor there.) A fair few of the current heroes function a bit as class crossovers, but we've yet to have a support/tank—that is, until Brigitte.
Classified as a support hero, Brigitte is Torbjorn's youngest daughter and the first to show an interest in mechanical engineering, though she preferred to focus on armor rather than weaponry. Along the road she became Reinhardt's squire, tending to his armor and even the man himself, but eventually realized that the best way to protect him was to take up arms herself. Her kit, as told by Blizzard, follows:
I'm personally excited by the addition of another support hero so soon after Moira, and hope that this can begin to fill the hole in my heart left by the Mercy nerfs (because if you thought I could get through a single article without bringing that up, then you're dead wrong).
If you want to try Brigitte out, she's on the PTR now, and you can find her developer update here.
