Let's be honest, Street Fighter V had a very rocky start. While I love Street Fighter, I was so incredibly disappointed when the game first launches in February 2016. Hardly any characters and no game modes to speak of. Here we are about a year and a half later and the game has expanded but there is still a lot to be desired. The new DLC characters are great but the one feature that people were waiting for the most was a proper single player Arcade Mode.
Well it seems that Capcom has finally delivered as Street Fighter V: Arcade Edition will release on January 16, 2018 for PS4 and PC. Not only will the game feature an Arcade mode but it will also come with a complete UI overhaul, new V-Triggers for each character, a extra battle mode, gallery and more.
Now here is some important information about this release. If you already own vanilla Street Fighter V, you will get the Arcade Edition as a free update, HOWEVER you will NOT get the characters. For instance, if you have Street Fighter V and have not bought any of the DLC characters, you will NOT get them free once the update hits. You will however get the new features such as Arcade Mode, the new V-Triggers, New UI and visual updates and the gallery mode.
