Could it be that games are a product of culture and literature worth preserving? Well Stanford University's Howard Lowood thinks so. At GDC this year Lowood proposed the establishment of an archive of video and computer games maintained by the U.S. Library of Congress.
Included in his nominations of games for the Library of Congress's Digital Media collection are Zork!, Civilization, Super Mario Bros 3 and Tetris.
