FAR: Lone Sails speaks to me. You've got a wind-powered something-or-other for a vehicle, which you're driving across a dried-out seabed of decayed civilization, and you're hopping in and out of it for some lite puzzle solving and easy-going survival elements. It basically looks like an excuse for a post-apoc concept artist to create an endless, lovely, piano-laden, horizontal scroll.
I don't know about the "endless" part. But FAR challenges you with the question: How far can you make it?
I certainly want to find out. I want to prop up the sails in proper conditions, keep my little blue fuel tank topped off, I want to run around my wind-punk train engine (or whatever it is) for a little FTL: Faster Than Light damage control when the inclement weather , and I just want to enjoy a beautiful soundtrack while doing it. Is that asking too much?
The video above is new footage from Gamescom 17, and says it's in pre-alpha, but who knows what's the difference anymore between early access, beta, alpha, and pre-alpha.
FAR: Lone Sails is coming to PC in early 2018.
