There are a lot of side-scrolling games out there and it would take forever to example them, but there is a new one trying to get kick-started that may be one of the most ingenious ones to come to gaming in a long time. Harold Halibut is a stop motion video game about "wander(ing) around an underwater community that has formed after 200 years of enclosed space travel". The game looks like the same design as A Year Without a Santa Claus - a nostalgic take on gaming that incorporates a charming looking story-line. The release date is estimated 2019 for Xbox One and PS4 and here is a trailer for it:
