Still waiting to get into VR because it's too expensive? Well, does Oculus have a deal for you. For a limited time, the Oculus Rift along with the Oculus Touch are $399. That's a savings of $200 from the price drop it had before.
The Oculus Rift has had some good software updates with room scale becoming an official supported mode. The Oculus Touch controllers are pretty slick and the few times I used them, I thought they were solid.
Compared to the Vive, the Rift is a little more lightweight and some say more comfortable to wear. Optics are great and there's a good line of software made exclusively for the headset.
For room scale, Oculus recommends getting another USB camera, which will set you back another $60. You also might need a USB extension cable so depending on your setup and where you place the third camera.
At $399, that's a hell of a deal and it's in the ballpark that I thought it would be initially. If you have the computer to run it and was interested in VR, then this deal is for you.
