Oculus has gone and fired the first shot in reducing the price of VR. Both the Oculus Rift and the Oculus Touch controllers can now be had for less than what they initially cost.
The Oculus Rift bundle with the controllers will cost you $598, originally $799. Don't want the controllers? The HMD itself will cost you $499 now instead of $599. If you just need the Touch controllers, you can now snag them for $99 instead of $199. For those wanting to do some room scale VR, an extra USB sensor is now $59 rather than $79.
If you purchased any of these items in the past 30 days, you can contact Oculus for a store credit.
Great to see the price of VR dropping. While I don't have an Oculus myself, I did find the HMD to be comfortable to wear and the Touch controllers to be fun to use.
