Escalation Studios joined the ZeniMax Media family today. Escalation was the outsourced team that handled 2016's DOOM SnapMap level editor. Their resume also includes work on NCAA March Madness Live VR, and Please, Don't Touch Anything VR. Not to insinuate they'll be diving straight into VR work for ZeniMax, but I wouldn't rule it out. In fact, Escalation doesn't rule it out either. According to the press release:
Escalation is currently working on a number of projects with studios throughout the ZeniMax family and will continue to contribute its talents across PC, console, mobile, and VR titles going forward.
This brings ZeniMax's subsidiary count up to eight. The family tree is composed of Bethesda Softworks (Fallout, The Elder Scrolls), ZeniMax Online Studios (The Elder Scrolls Online), id Software (DOOM), Arkane Studios (Dishonored), Tango Gameworks (The Evil Within), MachineGames (Wolfenstein: The New Order), BattleCry Studios (Battlecry), and now Escalation Studios.
