Pillars of Eternity II: Deadfire, reached its funding goal of $1.1 million on fig.co in "22 hours and 57 minutes."
As of writing, the funding stands at $1,847,331, and has 16,795 backers.
Pillars of Eterntiy II: Deadfire is of course the sequel to Pillars of Eternity, a 2015 fantasy rpg that was funded on Kickstarter. Both are developed by Obsidian Entertainment.
The sequel will continue the story set up in the original, meaning that players will still play as The Watcher. On the game's funding page, a developer update states that at least three followers from the original game: Aloth, Pellegina, and Eder, will return (pictured below). But, they will not be the same, as events from the first game will have changed them in some way.
Obsidian is the developer of such games as Star Wars: Knights of the Old Republic II: The Sith Lords, Fallout: New Vegas, Tyranny, and Neverwinter Nights 2, just to name a few.
