One of the best beat-em-ups on the NES back in the day was Double Dragon. While the original games were ported to several systems with the Super NES getting a couple of exclusives, a few remakes were made over the years such as Double Dragon Neon and Double Dragon II: Wander of the Dragons. If you're the kind of person who loved Double Dragon back in the day, get ready for this. Arc System Works has recently announced that Double Dragon IV will be released on January 30th, 2017 for the PS4 and Steam. The graphical style and gameplay of the game looks to be a return to the classic 8- and 16-bits that gamers remember from the 80s and 90s...and it looks awesome! Personally, I can't wait until this drops next month.
However, there is one thing that bothers me. In the past we had Double Dragon 1-3, but next was Super Double Dragon on the Super NES...followed by Double Dragon V: The Shadow Falls, a fighting game based off of the animated series. This might be the first time a series released a numbered title before its predecessor, if that makes any sense (ie. we got Double Dragon V before Double Dragon IV).
