Rocket League is just a crazy fun game that the staff here at GN love. You race little cars around an arena smashing into a soccer ball to try to place it into the goal. Dig a little deeper and there is a wonderfully complex game there that really rewards skill and strategy that is still simple to pick up and enjoy as a novice. Rocket League can be found on PS4, Xbox One, and PC but there is of yet no mobile counterpart from the makers over at Psyonix. Looking to fill that void comes Zero Four Games out of Dubai with their upcoming Rocket League clone, Turbo League.
Zero Four Games aren't new to making car games as they already have apps for racing and drifting. From the announcement trailer below, the game itself looks like they completely lifted Rocket League and are just placed it into the mobile space. It will be interesting to see if they can nail the control scheme like the original does, or if this motivates Psyonix to port their game over to mobile on their own. Aping other developers' ideas is really nothing new in the industry but I'm a little torn about promoting a straight rip off while at the same time would love to benefit from a mobile version of Rocket League. We'll see how it all plays out.
