If you're off your Joy, we've got some good news for you. Compulsion Studios has introduced a new update to its pre-release game We Happy Few, appropriately titled "The Clockwork Update."
This update addresses major issues in the game, including the following:
It adds a tutorial mode and a new shelter for Arthur right after the intro of the game. Remember when you got knocked out by the Bobbies and then magically woke up inside some underground bunker with a dead woman? Not anymore. Now, you wake up right where you left off: on the cold, grimy ground.
All existing encounters and quests have been overhauled, which is a mostly logistic change. However, since the changes are so drastic, old saves will no longer be compatible with the game once you install the update, and you will have to make a new game. Sorry about that - but hey, you get to experience the revamped beginning!
CONVERSATION MODE. Thank you, Compulsion Studios. Now, when you initiate conversation, the NPC will enter Conversation Mode, and no external factors can interfere with that conversation. No more NPCs dying mid-sentence.
More minor changes include added animations, altered interior decoration, and improved idle NPC character. Though this isn't a full narrative release, never fear; this update is definitely a big step forward for those of us who eagerly await its completion.
